Bio

Jillian Segura began her first season at the University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy as an assistant coach for women's basketball in 2022. Segura comes to UHSP after three seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Northwestern Ohio. During her time at UNOH, Segura was the Recruiting Coordinator and responsible for coaching post players. She also assisted in developing Tori Lennartz and Jada Haines who captured first-team all-conference WHAC honors and Lennartz receive NAIA Honorable Mention All-American recognition. In 2019-20, Segura helped the Racers to their best winning percentage in four season and earned a victory of No. 14 ranked Siena Heights, the highest ranked opponent Northwestern Ohio has ever defeated. She helped UNOH set a program record for the most threes in a season with 291.

Prior to UNOH, Segura spent two seasons at Jefferson College in Hillsboro, MO. Her duties there included post skill development, assisting in practice plans, film break down, and recruiting. During the 2017-2018 season, Segura assisted in the development of MCCAC 2nd team all-conference player Shannyn Triplett and 2018-19 Costal Carolina commit, Tyra Brown earning 1st team all-conference and Briar Johnson 2nd team all-conference.

Segura served as a graduate assistant for two years at Carroll University in Waukesha, Wisconsin, as the university made the jump from the Midwest College Conference to the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin. She assisted in recruiting, practices, film, fundraising and community service projects. Segura opened her coaching career as an assistant girls’ varsity and head freshman coach at Hinsdale South High School in Darien, Illinois, for two seasons.

A Chicago native, Segura earned four letters in basketball and volleyball at Queen of Peace High School and played collegiately all four years at Benedictine University. She received her bachelor's degree in Management from Benedictine in 2013 and her master's in Business Administration at Carroll in 2017. Jillian and her husband, Michael, reside in Columbia, IL with their daughter Carter.
