Eutectics Host Mikayla Sherrill Fall Classic

ST. LOUIS, MO. - On Saturday morning, the Eutectic cross country team hosted 10 collegiate and five high school programs at the Mikayla Sherrill Fall Classic in Willmore Park. The annual event, previously named the St. Louis Fall Classic, was renamed this year in honor of former teammate Mikayla Sherrill, who passed away in 2023. Sherrill's family presented awards following the races.

The Eutectic women's team finished in seventh place for the 5K collegiate women's race, while the College of the Ozarks team won the meet with five runners among the top 11 finishers.

Abby Baxter was the top finisher for the Eutectic women, finishing in 25th place of 51 finishers with a time of 22:35 for the 5K. Laila Wells improved her time from last week by a whopping three-and-a-half minutes, finishing at 24:20 for 38th place.  Sophie Eastham and Ellie Creasey were the number-three and -four runners for the Euts, finishing in 41st and 42nd places with times of 25:17 and 25:33, respectively. Karlea Frey rounded out the Eutectic top five in 47th place at 27:40.

The Eutectics will have one week off from racing before they compete at the American Midwest Conference (AMC) Championships hosted by Hannibal-LaGrange University in Hannibal, Mo., on Friday, Nov. 8.
