Eastham finishes 20th at Gorlock-Griffin Invitational

Individuals from the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy Cross Country men's and women's crosscountry teams ran their second meet of the season on Satuday at Buder Park in Valley Park. The Eutectics were part of the field at the Gorlock-Griffin Invitational.

Neither the UHSP men nor women registered a final score as the women had only one runner complete the 5K. The men had just two runners complete the 8K as Zachary Brasel pulled out late. It was a tough day all around for USHP. The men's race individually was won by Fontbonne freshman Steven Aguilar who ran a 27:51.56. The top Eutectic was Jeremy Smith who finished 18th overall with a 35:14.48 while Enze Hao was 35th at 47:51.21. Webster University won the men's team title two points better than Principia College.

On the women's side, just Sophie Eastham completed the course for the Purple and Gold coming in 20th at 31:24.96. Cottey College ran the table in the top seven finishers, led by Madalenn Fee at 20:55.08. The Comets were the only team out of eight to have enough finishers to qualify to have a team score.

The Eutectics run next at the Brian T. Simpson Invitational on Oct. 7.
