Brinson and Hendrix named AMC All-Conference
ST. LOUIS, MO – With the volleyball regular season having wrapped up, the American Midwest Conference league office on Tuesday revealed the 2024 AMC All-Conference volleyball teams along with the Champions of Character team. The University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy's Jenna Brinson and Macy Hendrix were named to the All-Conference Honorable Mention team while Amber Loo was the UHSP selection to the Champions of Character team.
Junior setter Jenna Brinson finished out another incredible season in which she surpassed 2,000 career assists, becoming just the second-ever Eutectic to reach that plateau. Brinson had 685 assists this season as she totaled a season-high 46 assists in a match twice this year. Brinson now has 2,148 career assists putting her second all-time in UHSP history. The 685 assists this season rank seventh all-time for most assists in a single season in Eutectics history. Brinson also accumulated 234 digs, 14 total blocks, 25 aces and 25 kills this season. Brinson was the lone Eutectic to be named AMC Player of the Week this season as she claimed the honor in late August. This marks the second consecutive season that Brinson has been named to the All-AMC Honorable Mention team.
Senior Macy Hendrix becomes an All-Conference player for the first time in her career. Hendrix piled up a team-high 467 digs this season, the most for her in a single season by a wide margin. That mark ranks eighth all-time for the Eutectics for digs in a single season while her 4.21 digs per set rank seventh all-time. She turned in a season-high 33 digs performance on September 27 against Central Baptist and twice had 31 digs in a match. Hendrix also compiled 45 assists, 26 service aces and six kills this season.
UHSP's only other season, Amber Loo was recognized as the Eutectics selection to the Champions of Character team. The Champions of Character is a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics initiative that keeps the five core values – integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership – at the heart of the athletics experience. Loo was selected as best representing those qualities among the Eutectic players throughout this season. Loo is an all-around diverse player having 203 digs with also 107 kills this season along with 25 total blocks. This is Loo's first appearance on the AMC All-Conference list.
The Eutectics have had at least two players named to the American Midwest Conference All-Conference team every season since 2017.
