Macon-Ford Improves Record as Eutectics Compete at Greenville Select

GREENVILLE, ILL. – The Eutectic men's and women's track and field teams competed in the Greenville University Select meet on Saturday, notching several top-10 finishes and personal records at the non-team-scoring meet.

INDIVIDUAL HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Leah Macon-Ford improved her own school record in the women's 200m dash, recording a time of 25.51 to place fourth of 35 sprinters in the race. The new personal-best time is the second-best time in the American Midwest Conference performance list to date.
  • Macon-Ford also raced to another top-five finish in the 100m dash, finishing fourth of 25 with a time of 12.22. She currently holds the best time in the Conference in the event with a national-qualifying time of 11.84 set two weeks ago.
  • Kristofer St. Clair took fourth place of 24 throwers in the men's discus. He recorded a mark of 38.80m (127'03") on his first attempt.
  • Taylor Washington and Mariah Scott earned top-10 finishes in the 100m Hurdles. Washington finished sixth (of 19) with a time of 16.05, while Scott cracked the 17 second mark for the first time in her career at 16.98 for 10th-place.
  • Washington also finished ninth of 15 in the HJ with a leap of 1.43m (4'08.25"). Teammate Arianna Buduan cleared the same height on her second attempt to finish in 12th.
  • Reece Halley and Hanna Burch each cracked the top-10 in the throws. Halley was 10th of 31 in the Discus at 34.41 (112'11"). Burch was ninth of 19 in the Javelin at 25.32m (83'01").
  • Brett Bushue and Brock Beins recorded personal records at the meet. Bushue leapt 1.78m (5'10") in the high jump for a new PR to finish 11th of 22. Bushue also pole vaulted 3.70m (12'01.5") for 12th place. Beins PRed in the pole vault at 3.55m (11'07.75") to finish 14th at the meet and become the second-highest vaulter in UHSP history.

The Eutectics will return to the track next Saturday, April 19, at the Gibson Invitational hosted by Indiana State University in Terre Haute.
