Macon-Ford and St. Clair Break Records in Georgia
ATLANTA, GA. – The Eutectic men's and women's track and field teams took a trip to Georgia to compete in the Emory Spring Break Classic outdoor meet where freshman standouts Leah Macon-Ford and Kristofer St. Clair each recorded new UHSP records. No team scores were kept at the meet, which featured hundreds of athletes competing at what will likely be the Eutectics largest single meet of the season.
MEET HIGHTLIGHTS:
New UHSP Records
- Indoor 60m and 200m Champion and National Qualifier Leah Macon-Ford returned to the track for her first outdoor collegiate meet and turned in a new UHSP record and top-ten finish in the women's 100m Dash.
- Macon-Ford started off the meet by posting the fastest time of all 80 athletes competing in the Qualifying Round. Her time of 12.15 seconds broke UHSP's record of 13.01 set back in 2013 by Grace Noble and qualified her to advance to the Preliminary heats at the Emory meet.
- In the Prelims that followed, Macon-Ford improved on that time with a mark of 12.07 to win her heat and post the seventh-fastest time (of 20 athletes) to qualify for the Finals.
- In the Finals, she finished with a time of 12.23 to take seventh place at the meet.
- After just one meet, Macon-Ford is very close to the qualifying time for the Outdoor National Championships of 11.88.
- After breaking the UHSP record in the men's Discus Throw in his first collegiate outing last week, Kristofer St. Clair improved on that record at the Emory meet with a toss of 39.16m (128-06) – over two feet longer than his previous record. The mark was good enough for 21st place of 85 competing athletes in the event.

- Washington and Ariana Buduan both posted top-20 finishes in the women's High Jump. Washington's jump of 1.50m (4-11) was 14th and Buduan's 1.45m (4-09) was 16th of 37 jumpers.
- Adison Plazek finished 36th in the 100m Hurdles with a personal-best time of 17.66 seconds to become the fourth-fastest 100m hurdler in UHSP history behind teammates Washington and Mariah Scott and alumnus Suong Nguyen.
- The Eutectic women's 4 x 100m and 4 x 400m Relay teams both clocked in with times within the top-five in UHSP history.
