Eutectics sweep AMC WSOC Player of the Week awards

ST. LOUIS - In what has already been a tremendous season for the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy, the Eutectics on Monday had another program-first. Never before had UHSP been selected for both the offensive and defensive Players of the Week in the same week, but Lauren Harding and Isabelle Rogers changed that. The American Midwest Conference on Monday announced that Harding is the AMC's Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts in goal throughout the week of Oct. 14-20 while Rogers was named the AMC's Offensive Player of the Week.

Harding picked up both wins in net over the counting period with victories over Stephens and Williams Baptist. She led a shutout win over the Stars making nine saves in Tuesday's 3-0 win. In a 2-1 win Saturday over the Eagles, Harding gave up an early goal but was flawless after that. She managed another nine save performance while a number of times coming out of the goal box to break up potential WBU scoring chances. For the season, Harding has a save percentage of .716 and a goals-against-average of 2.55. She is 6-3 on the year after earning the starting job between the pipes in the third game of the year.

Rogers was instrumental in sparking the offense in both games during the week. She scored her sixth goal of her freshman season in the game against Stephens and is tied for the team lead in goals with Alexa Hildebrand. Against William Woods, Rogers orchestrated the run-up that led to both Eutectic goals. She set up Sarah Agnew for the game tying goal in the second half and then assisted on the go-ahead and game-winner on a cross to Hannah Tyree. After the win over WBU, UHSP Head Coach Jack Jamieson said of Rogers, "She made the offensive end of the field come alive and was instrumental in both goals and the attack."

Rogers and Harding are the second and third Eutectics to receive a Player of the Week nod this season after Kyndal Adams was named offensive POW in late September. It marks the seventh and eighth time in program history that a Eutectic has been named a conference Player of the Week. UHSP (6-5, 3-1 AMC) returns to action when they travel to William Woods on Saturday.
