CREVE COEUR, MO – Three second-half goals opened things up as the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy beat former conference for Lyon 4-1 on Saturday night. The Eutectics fell behind 1-0, but scored four unanswered to pull away with the win.

Following a fairly uneventful opening 20 minutes, the Scots were the beneficiaries of a backfield turnover by the Eutectics. Emma Rumore sent the ball ahead for Lyon to a breaking Jessica Steele who broke out ahead of the defense. Steele scored nine goals a year ago as a freshman and heading into this game had already three more to that total this season. Her dozen goals already put her 18th all-time in Scots history in the career goals scored category. 22:18 in this game, Steele sprinted ahead and beat UHSP goaltender Lauren Harding with a shot to the low left side of the net to give the Scots the opening goal with Rumore credited for the assist.

Just shy of 15 minutes later it was the Eutectics that took advantage of some space when Izzy Rogers delivered a ball to the right side of the 18-yard box to a wide-open Alexa Hildebrand. The junior dribbled in on the Scots keeper Bethanny Moore and rifled one to the upper far side of the net to even the score at 1-1 on her fifth goal of the year.

The second half started much like the first half with the middle third of the pitch seeing the most action. Just shy of 13 minutes into the second half, Hannah Tyree sent a through-ball to a cutting Trinity Wimberly. Wimberly took a couple of dribbles and fired one into the left side of the net for her first goal of the season which gave the Purple and Gold the 2-1 lead.

With exactly eight minutes left, Hannah Tyree would put the game away as she scored to make it 3-1 off an assist from Kaylee Park. Rogers added a final tally just for good measure with :17.3 left in the contest to finish off the 4-1 final.

Rogers and Hildebrand are tied for the team lead in scoring each with five goals on the season. Rogers consistently finds her way into scoring opportunities and routinely provides chances for her teammates to score as she typically draws a lot of attention from the defense. UHSP Head Coach Jack Jamieson said of Rogers, "There is not a shot that Izzy doesn't like".

With the win, UHSP improves to 2-7 all-time against the Scots as they have now won the last two straight. UHSP outshot Lyon 14-12 overall and 10-5 in shots on goal. Lauren Harding made four saves in net for UHSP while Bethanny Moore made six.

The Eutectics (4-4, 1-0 AMC) will next welcome the 11th-ranked team in the nation to town when Columbia (6-1-1, 1-0 AMC) visits UHSP on Sunday. Kickoff is schedule for 3:00pm from St. Louis University High School.
