Mighty Oaks send UHSP to 2-3 with shutout loss

CREVE COEUR, MO – It turned out to be a rough outing for the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy on Saturday as Oakland City came to town and blanked the home club, 8-0.

Oakland City took control early, scoring three goals in the first half and adding five more in the second. UHSP struggled offensively and defensively, failing to score as the Mighty Oaks commanded the time of possession throughout the contest.

Camilla Bedin opened the scoring early with a goal at 5:32, assisted by Linn Adolfsson-Funk. Macey Woolcock made it 2-0 OCU with a goal at 28:17, assisted by Jana Mueller. Lilly Hulsman ended up bracketing halftime with a goal at 38:39 to close the first half and then another to open the second half scoring at 45:49 to make it 4-0.

Later in the second half, Linn Adolfsson-Funk (56:36), Alice Thoren (62:21, assisted by Macey Woolcock), Paula Roldan (69:26, unassisted), and Maria McSherry (74:49, assisted by Camilla Bedin) added to the tally, sealing the 8-0 win.

Oakland City outshot UHSP 35-4, with 16 shots in the second half alone. Shots on goal favored Oakland City 21-4.

Lauren Harding started in goal for the Eutectics and made 13 saves while Yaiza Ramos was not very busy in net for the Mighty Oaks making three saves on the only shots she saw.

UHSP (2-3) opens their American Midwest Conference slate in their next game when they host Central Baptist next Saturday at 2:00p.
