FULTON, MO. - On Friday afternoon, the 7-University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy women's soccer team got a shot at a rematch with the 2-Williams Woods Owls, but this time elimination was on the line in the American Midwest Conference Quarterfinals.

Throughout the first half, the Owls would register plenty of time in the attacking end and unload 14 shots in the half, six on goal. Prior to the game, UHSP Head Coach Jack Jamieson deviated from what had been the norm and elected to start Kayle Nguyen in goal and put usual netminder Zoe Dixon on the field on defense. The move paid off as Nguyen posted a clean sheet in the first making saves on all six shots on goal, keeping the game at 0-0 going into the second half. While the UHSP defense was tested, the offense struggled to generate chance as the Eutectics went empty in the first half in the way of shots.

The Eutectics defense would remain strong throughout the first 35 minutes of the second half as it remained a scoreless game. William Woods finally broke through at 81:16 as Hannah Loethen finally solved Nguyen for a goal, assisted by Megan Hughes. It figured to be the game's only goal as William Woods would advance to the AMC Semifinals on the 1-0 win.

The Owls outshot the Eutectics 34-1 overall with Nguyen making 19 saves on the game. The Eutectics wrapped up the season with a record of 2-9.
