Spartans handle Eutectics; Dixon sets new UHSP record

CREVE COEUR, MO – Mack Miller led a Missouri Baptist attack that featured ten different goal scorers as the Spartans took care of the Eutectics on Monday, 17-1. Miller had four goals Olivia Julian had a hat trick and Lydia Cornett had a goal and five assists as MoBap dominated the contest start to finish.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS:

MISSOURI BAPTIST 17, UHSP 1

  • MBU scored three goals in the opening five minutes, two from Delaney Pechnik as the Spartans led 7-0 after one quarter.
  • Miller had a pair of goals in a five-goal second quarter for the Spartans, who led 12-0 at the half.
  • Molly Biermann was able to score the lone Eutectic goal to open the third quarter scoring at 11:38. It was Biermann's 11th goal of the season and she now had a four-game goal scoring streak.
  • Brianna Dixon made 16 saves in net for UHSP on 33 shots including two stellar point-blank back-to-back saves on Lydia Cornett to end the third quarter. The 16 saves are the most ever made in a single game by a UHSP keeper.
  • The Spartans were successful in the open field as moving from defense to offense as they converted all but three of their 13 clear attempts. UHSP was 11-for-24 on clears.
  • Missouri Baptist outshot UHSP 45-5.

The Eutectics (4-7, 1-4 HEART) play their final home game of season on Thursday when they play host to Midland (0-6, 0-4 HEART) at 3:00p. After that, it is road trips to Missouri Valley and Culver-Stockton to finish out the year.
