Georgetown sprints to big early lead and take down Eutectics

GEORGETOWN, KY – UHSP finished out their 2025 spring break trip with a 1-2 mark after falling on Wednesday to Georgetown 18-5. The Eutectics could not overcome a pair of Tigers with five goals on the day, Georgetown scoring the game's first seven goals while only recording 12 shots in the game themselves.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS:

GEORGETOWN 18, UHSP 5

  • The Tigers got a pair from Katerina Gilbert, a hat trick from Aubree Lair and a trio of assists from Madison Diaz before UHSP ever go on the board. GU scored seven goals in the opening 11:56 and never trailed by fewer than six the rest of the way.
  • Gracie Spicer scored a pair of first period goals for the Purple and Gold in a span of 2:08.
  • Haley Smith and Caeley Doran each scored an unassisted goal in the second quarter for the Eutectics. Smith would score again in the fourth for the final goal for UHSP.
  • Georgetown outshot UHSP 30-12 including 22-8 in shots on goal.
  • UHSP goaltender Brianna Dixon made four saves on the day.
  • Madison Haney made three saves for the Tigers.
  • GU was efficient throughout the game failing on only one of their 15 clear attempts. UHSP was successful on 9 of 14.
  • The Tigers forced 39 Eutectic turnovers while having just 27 themselves.

The Eutectics (2-5, 0-2 HEART) are now back to Heart conference play on Saturday when the Ottawa Braves (4-5, 3-0 HEART) come to St. Louis. The game has been moved from the Creve Coeur Soccer Park to the Lou Fusz indoor facility in Earth City for a 3:00p start.
