Eutectics open season with home loss to Hendrix

CREVE COUER, MO – The Eutectics began their 2025 campaign at home against Hendrix and did not come out with the result they had hoped for as the Warriors used a five-goal second period en route to a 12-4 win.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Ella Penke got the Eutectics on the board with a goal 1:07 into the second quarter to tie the match at 1-1.
  • Peyton Refling scored twice in the five-goal second for Hendrix. Haley Smith scored with 2:47 left in the half as the Eutectics closed within four to make it 6-2 at the half.
  • Penke and Smith would notch goals for UHSP in the second half, but the Eutectics couldn't slow down Kinley Robinson and Refling. Robinson had three goals and three assists while Refling scored five times and assisted on one.
  • Hendrix outshot UHSP 25-18.
  • This was the second-ever meeting between the clubs as UHSP won last year's match-up by a score of 12-11

The Eutectics (0-1) will play remain out of conference when they host Tennessee Wesleyan (1-2) midweek on Wednesday before a road conference matchup next Saturday against preseason conference favorite Benedictine.
