Women’s Lacrosse to Join Heart of America Athletic Conference

The Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart) has announced the addition of UHSP as an associate member for Women's Lacrosse for the 2024-25 season. The Eutectics are one of four teams currently affiliated with the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Association (KCAC) who will make the transition to the Heart next season, including Midland University (Neb.), Missouri Baptist University, and Ottawa University (Kan.). The new members will join current Heart members Benedictine College (Kan.), Culver-Stockton College (Mo.), Missouri Valley College, Mount Mercy University (Iowa), St. Ambrose University (Iowa), and William Penn University (Iowa) to bring the total number of teams in the Conference to 10 for women's lacrosse.

In their second season of competition, the Eutectics finished third of five teams in the KCAC this spring, ahead of No. 4-Midland and No. 5-St. Mary University (Kan.) and behind Conference-champion Missouri Baptist and No. 2-Ottawa. The transition to the Heart is a natural fit for the Eutectics, whose 7-7 record for the 2023-24 season included competitions against all but two of the Heart teams.

Heart of America Athletic Conference Commissioner Nik Rule believes the addition of UHSP and the three other teams from the KCAC stands to strengthen the Conference for Women's Lacrosse.

"The inclusion of UHSP, Ottawa, Missouri Baptist and Midland into Women's Lacrosse within the conference underscores our ongoing efforts to provide a stable and competitive environment for all conference members. We are committed to supporting the growth and success of all our member institutions and the sport, and we believe that the addition of these programs will contribute to a vibrant and stable regional landscape in the sport for years to come," said Commissioner Rule.

UHSP has been an associate member of the Heart of America Athletic Conference for Men's Volleyball since 2020.
