Inaugural UHSP Team is Runner-Up at AMC Championships

MELBOURNE, ARK. -  Competing at the American Midwest Conference (AMC) Championships for the first time as a team, the Eutectic women's golf team finished as the runner-up of seven teams in the two-day event held at Cooper's Hawk Golf Club in Melbourne, Ark. The second-place finish is the highest finish of any UHSP team in an AMC Championship event. Addison Sullivan and Samantha Kasting were both top-10 finishers for the Eutectics.

The Eutectics finished Day 1 in second place at +52 and repeated the same exact score on Day 2 to hold off third-place Central Baptist College (Ark.). Columbia College (Mo.) won the championship event for the fourth-straight year at +43 over the two days. Columbia's Ellie Soderholm was the AMC individual champion with a score of +2 (75, 71) for the tournament.

Freshman Addison Sullivan led the Eutectics in a tie for a sixth-place finish of 35 golfers. She and Columbia's Camryn Swinfard were both +15 over the two days. Sullivan finished Day 1 with two birdies and eight pars for a 78 in the round. She started off Day 2 with two birdies for a 37 on the front nine, but finished the day with an 81.

Senior Samantha Kasting, playing in the final collegiate golf competition of her career, finished in a three-way tie for 10th place at +21, notching an 83 on Monday and an 82 on Tuesday. Both Kasting and Sullivan cranked out their best two-day competition score since the first tournament of the year back in September.

Sophomore Ella Penke finished just behind Kasting in 14th place at +29, scoring an 87 on Day 1 and improving slightly on Day 2 with an 86.

Freshman Grace Wilkinson tied her personal best score of the 2024-25 season at +39, finishing as the final UHSP scoring team member in 21st place. She finished Day 1 with a 92 and closed out Day 2 with a one-stroke improvement at 91.

Freshman Zoe Lopez was the fifth finisher for the Eutectics in 24th place at +45.

The AMC Championships closes out the inaugural season for the Eutectics, who immediately made their mark on the Conference. The second-place finish was their highest of the 2024-25 season.
