Euts finish 3rd at William Woods Invite
HOLTS SUMMIT, MO - It was another solid performace from the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy at the Railwood Open Hosted by William Woods University. Over the course of the two-day event, the Eutectics shot a combined 676 (+100) to finsih third overall at the tournament out of nine teams. UHSP shot a 325 (+37) on day one to sit in second place overall. The Eutectics faltered a bit on day two shooting a 351 (+63) and saw Central Methodist jump over them in team standings as the Eagles finished second, four strokes better than the Purple and Gold (+96). Lincoln University (MO) won the tournament with a 597 (+21).
The Blue Tigers of Lincoln had three players finish in the top four of the tournament as Divya Gunasegar and Kaathi Gunasegar shared the individual title. They each finished at even par for the tournament at 144. Cottey's Sara Golden was third at 147 (+3). Ella Penke was the top shooter for the Eutectics finishing tied for seventh overall at 160 (+16). Penke birdied the par-5 10th hole on both days and finished with two other birdies as well. Samantha Kasting was 11th in the standings at 165 (+21). After finishing day one just eight strokes off the lead, Kasting struggled a bit on day two as she carded an 89. Addison Sullivan and Caitlin Garlick were separated by just three strokes, the former finishing 17th at 174 (+30) and the latter in 19th at 177 (+33). Sullivan finished the tournament birdie-free while Garlick had three. Grace Wilkinson earned a share of 29th place with a 186 (+42) and Zoe Lopez finished 40th at 217 (+73).
The Eutectics wrap up the fall portion of their 2024-25 schedule when they compete in the Columbia College Cougar Classic on Monday and Tuesday, October 28-29.
