Strong second day by Sullivan paces UHSP on Day 2

FAYETTE, MO - It was a strong showing all around by the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy to wrap up play at the Central Methodist University Fall Invitational on Tuesday. The tournament was held at Hail Ridge Golf Course in Boonville and it was Addison Sullivan that shined again in her second straight tournament to kick off the season carding an 83 on day two, four better than her 87 to open the tournament. Sullivan helped the Eutectics to a third place finish with a 692 (+124), just nine strokes behind second-place Missouri Valley and nine strokes better than Central Methodist. Columbia won the tournament with a 646 (+78) as the Cougars were led by the tournament's overall individual winner, Ellie Soderholm who shot a 153 (+11).

Sullivan's 83 was sixth best in the field on day two and her overall 168 (+26) gave her seventh place in the tournament. Samantha Kasting was the top Eutectic after day one as she shot an 83 herself, tied for sixth overall after round one after she birdied the 18th-hole to cap the round. An 86 on day two for Kasting allowed Sullivan to leap-frog her as Kasting finished at 169 (+27) one spot behind Sullivan. After not recording a single birdie on day one, Sullivan birdied the par-4 fifth and the par-5 14th on day two. Ella Penke was right there for UHSP as well, finishing two back of Kasting after going 90/81 to finish 12th. Caitlin Garlick and Grace Wilkinson were separated by one stroke with the former finishing tied for 20th with a 187 and Wilkinson coming in 22nd at 188 (+46). Wilkinson, like Sullivan, was able to birdie the 14th. Penke and Garlick were able to help their scores on what turned out to be a tough 10th hole. The par-4 to lead off the back-nine was seeing scores as high as 10 during the tournament and did not yield a single birdie to the field on day one. The pair of Eutectics were two of only four golfers to come in under par on the hole on day two. Zoe Lopez had a tough outing shooting 110 and 106 to finish 34th with a 216 (+74). Lopez birdied the 8th-hole on day one, the only player in the field to do so.

The Eutectics head to the 2024 Wildcat Fall Classic, hosted by Culver-Stockton on Oct. 13-14. The tournament will be held at Spring Lake Country Club in Quincy, Ill.
