Spring season wraps up at MBU Invitational

ALTON, IL - The two-day event hosted by Missouri Baptist wrapped up on Tuesday as the Eutectics competed with their usual tandem of Caitlin Garlick and Samantha Kasting. A field of 43 women were in contention for the top spot that after day one was held by Brooklyn Verdugo (Union, TN) as she turned in a one-over-par 73. After the opening round, Kasting and Garlick were separated by just one stroke with Kasting edging out her teammate by shooting an 89 for 30th place. Garlick was tied for 31st with Tessa Myers (Bethel) at +18.

On day two, Garlick fell only one spot to 32nd overall despite shooting a 96 (+24) for a total score of 186 (+42). Kasting meanwhile nearly matched her day one score as she carded a second day total of 90 (+18). Kasting moved up one spot overall to finish the tournament in 29th place with a total score of 179 (+35).

At the top of the leaderboard, Aubrie Cagle overtook her teammate Verdugo as she notched a two-over 74. Verdugo slipped on day two shooting a 77 as the pair each finished +6 overall.
