
Mission downs Eutectics on Saturday afternoon

ST. LOUIS, MO – The Eutectics put together a strong effort but ultimately fell short as Mission secured a 79-65 victory at the UHSP. The Eutectics battled throughout the game, showing resilience with key outside shooting and defensive plays.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
- Montasia McAllister makes the first layup 2-0, giving UHSP a quick boost.
- Reece Halley made a 3-point shot with an assist from Sara Hameed that shifted the board back into UHSP's favor 12-10 in the first quarter. The Eutectics led 17-15 at the end of the first period.
- Early it the second quarter, Mission went on a 13-4 run that gave the Patriots a 30-23 led with 3:46 remaining. Mission led 44-29 at the break.
- After the Patriots scored the first four to begin the third, Montasia McAllister makes a jump shot followed by a layup assisted by DaNaiyah Darnell for a 50-33 score.
- Reece Halley, McAllister and Arianna Buduan made consecutive triples to try and keep the Eutectics in it trailing 63-47 with 1:39 left in the third. Mission led 67-47 after three.
- Darnell made a layup to get UHSP within 14 with 5:29 left cutting the Patriots lead to 69-55. That was the closest the Eutectics would get down the stretch.
- Mission outscored UHSP in the paint, 38-32. At the free throw line the Eutectics made 8-of-11 (73%) while MU was 12-for-17 (71%).
- The game featured six ties and five lead changes.
- UHSP's top scorers were Reece Halley with 19 points and Montasia McAllister with 16 points. McAllister added six rebounds and eight assists.
- Cassidy Hambelton and Heaven Shockley led Mission with 18 points each. Shockley had a double-double with 13 rebounds.

Despite the loss, UHSP displayed great ball movement and defensive hustle, keeping the game competitive until the final moments. The Eutectics (6-19, 6-13 AMC) will look to bounce back as they travel to Cottey (17-8, 13-6 AMC) on Monday at 5:30 P.M. for a game that was postponed from this week due to weather.
