Four in double figures as Eutectics make it four wins in a row

ST. LOUIS, MO – UHSP delivered a strong performance against Hannibal-LaGrange, dominating on both ends of the court and after building a 40-34 halftime lead, cruised to a commanding 77-56 win, extending their current winning streak to four games.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Jada Griggs opened scoring with a layup assisted by Montasia McAllister (9:15).
  • Key contributions from Alina Bowden and Griggs extended the lead to 10-4.
  • McAllister hit a three-pointer (5:27), and Kailana Reed closed the quarter with a layup (0:16), making it 23-16 UHSP.
  • Danaiyah Darnell drained back-to-back three-pointers early in the second quarter (9:20, 8:53), extending the lead to 29-18.
  • Arianna Buduan added a three-pointer (8:30) and a jump shot (5:10) after a timeout.
  • Another three from McAllister (7:25) and a layup by Griggs (6:58) in the third pushed the lead to 50-35 as UHSP opened the quarter on a 10-1 run.
  • Bowden (5:08) and Darnell (2:14) hit threes, while Morgan's free throws (1:26) helped UHSP close the quarter up 60-40.
  • Morgan (8:02) and Buduan (7:23) scored layups to push the lead to 64-40 to begin the fourth quarter.
  • Sara Hameed's three-pointer (5:59) sealed UHSP's dominant performance.
  • McAllister paced the Eutectics with 15 points as they had four players in double figures. It is the seventh time this year that McAllister has led UHSP in scoring.
  • Ivy Lesley led all scorers with 31 points for Hannibal-LaGrange going 10-of-18 from the floor and 10-of-14 from the foul line. She had 17 rebounds and six blocked shots.
  • Alina Bowden had 13 points and six rebounds. It was her second straight game in double digits and her third in the last four games.
  • Buduan finished with 13 points including 3-of-6 from beyond the arc. She was 5-of-10 from downtown on the week.
  • UHSP played without Reece Halley who sat with an injury suffered in Thursday's game against William Woods. Jada Griggs started in place of Halley and finished with ten points and four rebounds.
  • The Eutectics only shot 1.5% better than HLGU from the floor (38.5% to 37%), but UHSP squeezed off 24 more shots and made 10 more field goals than the Trojans.
  • A 12-for-32 effort from downtown by UHSP led to their second-most made threes in a game this year. HLGU was 4-for-17.
  • The Trojans turned it over twice as many times as the Eutectics, 16-8.
