Bio

Tim Cary joined the Eutectic coaching staff in the spring of 2022 as head cross country and assistant track and field coach to fill the position of retiring coach David Baker.

Cary has a successful history coaching track and field and cross country at all levels, including coaching four athletes who have competed in the Olympics. He has also received the National Coach of the Year (Trackbrain.com) and Coach of Distinction (Missouri Coaches Association) awards.

“I am excited at the opportunity to build on the tradition that Coach Baker has developed at UHSP,” said Cary. “Getting the chance to join UHSP is exciting. The school has so much to offer student athletes that it is a destination education. The familial feel among staff, students, and the Eutectic family really made this feel like I’ve found a great home.”

Cary is no stranger to the American Midwest Conference having previously coached at both Lindenwood University-Belleville (Ill.) and Missouri Baptist University. Most recently at LUB, he mentored six All-Americans in both cross country and track between 2016-20. He had already earned a national indoor team title with Lindenwood University (St. Charles, Mo.) in 1998 with two individual national champions and 12 All-Americans.

At the high school level, Cary churned out more than 75 All-State athletes, four state champions, two state records, one national champion, and eight state trophies during a 10-year stint at Marquette High School (Mo.)(1994-2004). Later, he also found success with the St. Joseph’s Academy (Mo.) and Windsor High School (Mo.).

Cary competed as a distance runner in both high school and college. He graduated with degree in Kinesiology from Missouri Baptist University.
