Dilks and Gamayo Named Volleyball Players of the Week

For the second week in a row, the Eutectic men's volleyball team has had athletes named by the Heart of America Athletic Conference (HEART) as Players of the Week. On Monday, the Conference recognized two UHSP players with the honor for the week of Mar. 10-16:
RJ Dilks as Setter of the Week and Xavier Gamayo as Defender of the Week.

Sophomore setter RJ Dilks was the anchor for UHSP's undefeated week, including two Conference wins, as he racked up 145 assists over three matches to average 13.18 assists per set. Dilks also contributed on defense, averaging 1.45 digs per set and tallying four blocks along with two aces. It is Dilks' first Player of the Week honor in his two seasons with the Eutectics.

The Defender of the Week award is Xavier Gamayo's second in his Eutectic career, having received the award in February of 2024. The sophomore libero seemed to be everywhere on the court during his three matches this week, digging up 41 attacks to average 3.73 digs per set. Gamayo also received 87 serves with only two reception errors on the week.

Dilks and Gamayo are the second and third Eutectics to receive player of the week honors so far this season. Grant Hoover was named HEART Attacker of the Week for Mar. 3-9.

The Eutectics look to continue their six-game winning streak as they host the Missouri Baptist Spartans on Tuesday, Mar. 18, at 7 p.m.
