During his tenure at UHSP, Lewis has coached athletes to 20 American Midwest Conference (AMC) individual champion titles, two Track Athlete of the Year titles, and one national qualification.
Lewis has had a 20-year career in speed, strength, and conditioning development with athletes ranging from elementary to professional levels in all sports. He has held positions as Fitness Trainer at Orange Theory Fitness and Personal Trainer/Group Exercise Instructor at Jewish Community Center in St. Louis.
Lewis has coached sprinters at several high schools in St. Louis, most recently at Christian Brothers College Preparatory, where he helped two 100m sprinters, one 200m sprinter, and an 800m Relay team qualify for the Missouri State Championships. As a coach at CBC, he also assisted and supervised the MSHSAA Conference and District track meets.
While a student at Missouri Southern State University, Lewis competed as a sprinter for the MSSU Lions. In 1997, he was a member of school record-setting 400m Relay team, which held the record until 2015.
Lewis graduated from MSSU with a B.S. in Health Promotion and Wellness in 2001. He currently lives in St. Louis with his wife, Emily, and their four children: Maurice, III, Serjacob, Aubrey, and Skye.
