Eutectics Bring Home Five PRs at Titan Open

The Eutectic men's track and field team earned five personal records at the Titan Open hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington on Saturday. The team is finding its stride at just the right moment with the American Midwest Conference (AMC) Indoor Championships scheduled for next weekend.

Defending 400m and 200m AMC Champion Jahari Hines sprinted to a third-place finish (of 44) in the 400 on Saturday with a time of 51.25 – just .12 seconds off his personal best set at last year's AMC meet. Hines also performed well in the 200, finishing sixth of 63 sprinters entered with a time of 23.19 – just .16 from his personal record. Hines will head into the AMC Championships with the fastest times in the Conference in both events.

Newcomer Marlon Brown picked up two new personal records in the 200m and 400m dashes, finishing at 24.32 and 54.02 in 32nd and 17th places. Jared Morales also ran his fastest time in the 200 at 25.17.

Nick Fiacco led the throwers finishing 22nd in the Shot Put with a mark of 10.87m (35'8"),

Newcomers Brock Beines and Jack Wolfe each earned personal bests at the meet. Beines cleared 2.76m (9'5") in the Pole Vault. Jack Wolfe ran 2:15.38 in the 800m Run.

The Eutectics will be back in action on Saturday, February 17th, competing at the AMC Indoor Championships at Coach Crafton Center on the Principia College campus in Elsah, Ill.
