University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy (UHSP) has announced Dan Hogan as the new head coach of the Eutectic men’s soccer program for the 2021-22 season. Hogan comes to UHSP with 31 years of experience as a collegiate head coach. He fills the role left vacant by the founding head men’s soccer coach Jack Jamieson, who will continue as head women’s soccer coach for the Eutectics.

UHSP Director of Athletics Jill Harter “We’re so fortunate to have Dan join the Eutectics as our Men’s Head Soccer Coach,” said Harter. “He’s bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience that’s sure to continue raising the bar on Coach Jamieson’s solid foundation. I’m excited to see Dan’s impacts our program.”

Most recently, Hogan spent 11 years (2009-2020) at the helm of the Lindenwood University–Belleville (Ill.) men’s and women’s soccer programs. While there, Hogan won two American Midwest Conference (AMC) championships (2014, 2015), qualifying those teams to participate in two National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) tournaments, and reaching the semifinals of the national tournament in 2015. Prior to joining the AMC in 2014, Hogan’s Lynx teams earned the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Tournament Champion title in 2011 and appeared in two semifinal USCAA tournament games in 2010 and 2012.

From 2000-2008, Hogan was the head men’s soccer coach at NCAA Division II University of Southern Indiana (USI). He led the USI Eagles to the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) championship title game in 2002 and semifinal game in 2003.

Prior to USI, Hogan headed up the men’s soccer program at AMC powerhouse Columbia College, where he led the Columbia Cougars to three AMC Tournament Champion titles. For his efforts, Hogan was selected as Conference Coach of the Year in 1991, 1992, 1998, and 1999. In 2011, Hogan was recognized for his outstanding coaching with his induction into the Columbia College Hall of Fame. Four years later (2015), his 1999 Cougar team was also inducted into the Columbia College Hall of Fame.

Hogan started his collegiate coaching career in 1989 as head men’s soccer coach at Ottawa University (Kan.). He played for the Truman State University (formerly Northeast Missouri State University) Bulldog NCAA Division II men’s soccer team before graduating in 1986.

Having lived in Belleville, Ill., for the past 12 years, Hogan is happy to make the transition within the AMC and remain in the St. Louis area to lead the Eutectics.

“I was familiar with the UHSP program because I coached within the same conference,” said Hogan. “I’ve seen the Eutectics progress year in and year out, and I feel there’s a lot to work with.”

As head coach at UHSP, Hogan hopes to build on the Eutectic team’s recent successes and continue to strengthen the program.

“My goal for the program is to get better every day and create an atmosphere of confidence so the guys know they have the opportunity to success, no matter the opposition.”
