UHSP Mourns the Passing of Coach Dan Hogan
The UHSP Eutectics family is saddened to announce the loss of a valued member of its team. Last week, Head Men's Head Soccer Coach Dan Hogan passed away from health challenges related to his fight against cancer.
Coach Hogan joined UHSP in 2021, bringing with him a life-long love of soccer that was an inspiration to his players, fellow coaches and all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. During his 33-year career, he coached at three institutions within the American Midwest Conference (AMC), starting with eight years at Columbia College. After his time at Columbia College, he spent a decade at Lindenwood University-Belleville before coming to USHP in 2021.
In 2023, Coach Hogan was the first active coach to gain induction into the AMC Hall of Fame. During his incredible coaching career, he accumulated over 270 wins and was a seven-time Show-Me Collegiate Conference/AMC Coach of the Year. He also led his soccer programs to the AMC Regular-Season Championship in 1994 and 2014, and the AMC Tournament Championship in 1994, 1996, 1998, 2014 and 2015. Over the years, Coach Hogan also coached 18 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) All-Americans, over a dozen scholar athletes, 49 all-conference players and three AMC Players of the Year. Under his direction, UHSP men's soccer players earned the NAIA Men's Soccer Fair Play and Sportsmanship award in 2021 and 2024.
Paul Anderson was recently named Associate Head Coach of Men's Soccer, being elevated from the Assistant Coach role. Coach Anderson's expanded duties include decision making authority on matters concerning UHSP men's soccer operations.
