Woodard and Hildebrand named to AMC All-Tournament Team
ST. LOUIS, MO - Following the completion of the American Midwest Conference Tournament, the league office released the players named to the 2024 AMC All-Tournament Teams. The University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy had Jacob Woodard and Alexa Hildebrand each named as one the players selected to the teams for their play in the AMC Tournament.
On the men's side, the 8-Eutectics were bounced from the tournament in the Quarterfinals 7-0 by the field's overall top-seed, William Woods. In what was a difficult game for the Eutectics to generate offense in, Woodard accounted for two of UHSP's four shots in the game.
The women had just about as difficult a time in their Quarterfinal game, losing 5-0 to 4-Harris-Stowe. Hildebrand was held shot-less in the contest.
Woodard and Hildebrand were two of the top offensive weapons on their respective teams all season. Woodard scored a team-high seven goals and led the club with 15 points. Hildebrand finished second on the club in scoring, her seven goals putting her one goal behind Isabelle Rogers for the team lead. She also finished with 15 total points on the season.
The tournament finals came down to the same two schools in both brackets. The Columbia Cougars won the Women's Championship beating Missouri Baptist 1-0 for their 11th overall title and 10th consecutive. Missouri Baptist won the Men's Tournament, securing their third-ever title with a 1-0 victory over Columbia College for their first crown since 2018.
The All-Tournament Team was selected by the eight Tournament-qualifying coaches.
