Eutectics Suffer Tough Loss in AMC Quarterfinals Against Owls

In a challenging matchup during the American Midwest Conference (AMC) Quarterfinals on November 6, 2024, the No. 8-seeded University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy (UHSP) Eutectic men's soccer team suffered a tough defeat against the top AMC team, the William Woods Owls, concluding with a final score of 7-0.

Playing on the Owls' turf in Fulton, Mo., the Eutectics fell behind early and struggled throughout the game, trailing 4-0 by halftime. WWU's aggressive play continued in the second half, leading to a final seven-goal margin.

Two WWU Owl players scored braces in the game, including AMC First-Team All-Conference recipient Miles Andrews.

For UHSP, goalie Wyatt Taylor faced a constant barrage from the Owls' offense, making five saves during his 65 minutes in net.

This loss brings the Eutectics' season to a close with a final season record of 1-16-0, highlighting a challenging phase for the team but also a clear demonstration of their resolve and unity in the face of adversity.

Prior to the Quarterfinal Game, the Conference announced the Eutectic Team as the winner of the 2024 AMC Fair Play and Sportsmanship Award, along with Second-Team All-Conference and AMC Champions of Character honors for senior captain Jacob Woodard, and nine UHSP players on the Academic All-Conference list.
