Men's Golf makes debut at William Woods Invite

FULTON, MO - Add another team to the list squads to have made their program debut at the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in the last three years. The Eutectics made their debut in Men's Golf on Monday and Tuesday competing as one of 16 teams at the William Woods Fall Invitational.

After two days on the course, the men were in a five-team group battling for the 11-spot in the field. The Eutectics would slip to 15th place overall, two strokes behind North Central Missouri with a two-day total of +58. UHSP shot two strokes better on day two than on day one. UHSP finished ahead of Westminster by 35 strokes. The host club Owls won the overall team competition shooting 14-under-par, six strokes better than Columbia.

Individually, Will Turner was the top Eutectic after day one with a 6-over-par 78. Connor Kosola was right behind Turner with a 79. Turner and Kosola would each card an 80 on the second day of play. Meanwhile, Brett Bushue took four strokes off his opening-round score of 80 on the second day by firing a 76. Bushue would end up as the top Eutectic overall with a +12 (156). He would end up in a share of 52nd place overall. Turner finished right in front of Kosola by a stroke finishing 14-over for the tournament. Abe Neal was six strokes behind Kosola with a 165 (+21). Alex Chandler was the last Eutectic to be a part of the debut tournament for the UHSP team. Chandler would shoot 81 on day one, but struggled on day two to a total of 90 for a 171 overall (+27).

There was a tie for the overall tournament winner as Cole Wiese (Central Methodist) and Liam Toole (William Woods) each finished 7-under-par with a 137. Toole shaved five strokes off his day one total on day two to earn a share of the individual title.

The Eutectics visit Fayette, Mo. for their next tournament on Monday and Tuesday at the Central Methodist University Fall Invitational.
