Trojans lead by 10 at the break and close out UHSP

ST. LOUIS, MO – The University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy Eutectics fell to Hannibal-LaGrange by a final score of 82-65 on Saturday. Landon Engelage had 15 points overall and the Eutectics trailed by just ten at the half, but Josh Talton's 25 points were too much to overcome as the Trojans swept the season series over UHSP and beat the visitors from St. Louis for the fourth consecutive time.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Landon Engelage led the Eutectics in scoring for the second time this season. He was 6-of-11 from the floor and finished with three rebounds.
  • Braylon Diggs finished with a double-double for HLGU with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Talton and Diggs combined to go 15-of-25 from the floor.
  • Brock Davis contributed significantly hitting half of his six three-pointers, going 4-for-4 from the foul line and finished with 13 points and seven rebounds.
  • Hayden Campbell appeared in his first game this season and was third for the Eutectics with 11 points going 3-of-4 from the floor and 5-for-5 from the foul line. He added three boards.
  • UHSP started with an early 5-1 lead and trailed 10-8 after a Dwight Newsome three. Hannibal-LaGrange went on a 15-5 scoring runs after that to build a 25-13 lead with 9:02 left in the first half.
  • The Trojans led 44-34 at the half.
  • With 14:37 remaining, UHSP cut the margin to just four at 50-46 after a couple of Ahian Barnett foul shots.
  • HLGU was 47.5% from the floor (28-59) while the Eutectics were 39.2% (20-51).
  • Each team his eight three-pointers.
  • The Trojans won the battle of the boards, 37-24.

On Thursday, the Eutectics (6-16, 0-13 AMC) return to action as they make the short trip to play Missouri Baptist (9-13, 6-6 AMC) on at 7:30p. UHSP will finish the week but open a three-game homestand next Saturday when they play host to Williams Baptist.
