UHSP Sweeps AMC Basketball Player of the Week Awards
The American Midwest Conference (AMC) has announced UHSP's Landon Engelage and Grace Beyer as AMC Basketball Players of the Week based on their performances from Dec. 4 through Dec. 10. It is only the second time in Eutectic history that UHSP has swept the Conference basketball PoW honors.
Sophomore guard/forward Landon Engelage had the best week of his collegiate career, averaging 29.5 points and 12 rebounds over two games. In the Eutectic home loss to Bethel University (Tenn.) on Monday, Engelage had a career-high 30 points and 15 rebounds. He followed that up with 29 points, nine rebounds, four steals, and four assists in UHSP's 107-100 loss to Central Christian College of the Bible in Moberly, Mo., on Saturday. It is Engelage's first Player of the Week nod and the second for the UHSP men's team this season.
With today's announcement, senior guard Grace Beyer has earned her third AMC PoW award of the season. Beyer scored 36 points, pulled down 14 rebounds, and dished off four assists in the Eutectics' 80-67 victory over Midway University (Ky.) on Saturday at home. This is the 23rd Conference PoW nod of her highly-decorated collegiate basketball career.
