Balvanz named Daktronics Scholar-Athlete

The University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy's Nathan Balvanz was among 217 athletes across the country named as one of the 2022-23 Daktronics NAIA Competitive Dance Scholar-Athletes.

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the list of recipients today from among the 62 schools nationwide. In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at said institution.

Balvanz is a sophomore out of Mexico, MO competing with UHSP. As a freshman, Balvanz was named to the dean's list in the College of Arts and Sciences for both the fall and spring semesters. He also made the dean's list for this most recent fall semester.

Balvanz competes on the inaugural Competitive Cheer team for the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy.
