
Bees overcome early deficit, hold off UHSP in Heart contest
CREVE COEUR, MO – The Eutectics and St. Ambrose met for the first time Thursday afternoon and it was the Bees who came away with a 13-7 win. UHSP led 3-1 after one, but SAU scored five straight between the second and third quarters to grab a 6-3 advantage and never looked back.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
- Ella Penke opened the scoring for UHSP as she netted the first two of her three total goals just 6:07 apart in the first quarter.
- Haley Smith capped the first period scoring off a feed from Michelle Le to put the home club on top 3-1.
- Anabelle Brown was a big part of the 5-goal swing for the Bees as she scored twice during that run. She ended up with six goals on the game on eight shots.
- Raegan Dotterer opened the scoring on a free position shot just 2:59 into the contest. She would finish with four goals on five shots.
- Brianna Dixon would make six saves on 19 shots in net for the Eutectics
- St. Ambrose keeper Saige Carlton faced 15 shots making eight saves.
- The Eutectics were unable to capitalize on any of their four free position shots while the Bees went 6-for-14 in that area.
- SAU had seven more turnovers than UHSP 17-10.

The Eutectics (1-3, 0-2 HEART) begin their Spring Break trip on Saturday as they embark on three straight away from home road. They open the trip at Marian (IN) (3-3) for a 10:00a faceoff. The Knights are coming off a 16-14 win over #9-ranked Life. All six of Marian's games have come against teams that are either nationally ranked or receiving votes. Then on Monday, the Eutectics are at Montreat (NC) and finish the trip on Wednesday at Georgetown (KY). Their next home game Saturday, March 22 when the Ottawa Braves come to town.
