Bio

In the fall of 2021, Chris Frankenfield transitioned to head coach for the UHSP men’s volleyball team, having been with the team from its inception as the assistant coach for the previous two years. After two years at the helm developing the fledgling program, Frankenfield led the 2024 UHSP team to 20 wins in the season, including eight wins in the ultra competitive Heart of America Athletic Conference. In doing so, he becomed one of only three coaches from any sport in Eutectic history to reach the 20-win mark in a single season.   

Frankenfield has a long history of coaching experience, including 28 years of coaching at Parkway North High School in St. Louis County where he accumulated over 500 wins. Over the years, he has racked up six district titles, four final four appearances, a second-place state finish and two-time back-to-back state championships with the PNHS Vikings.

At the collegiate level, in addition to his time at UHSP, Frankenfield has spent four seasons as assistant coach of the Fontbonne University (Mo.) women’s volleyball team. He has also coached at two local clubs: Parkway Lighting (girls) and STL High Performance (boys).

Frankenfield and his wife Andrea of 30 years have three wonderful children who have played or are all playing volleyball (all setters). Samantha (Ole Miss ’21), Luke (Kean University (N.J.)), and Jake (a PNHS alum).

Coach Frankenfield is a graduate of Evangel University (’91) with a B.S. in Physical Education. He has a master’s degree in Education with an emphasis in Physical Education from University of Missouri-St. Louis and 30+ credit hours from Southwest Baptist University (Mo.).
