Hoover and Werner Named All-Conference

Hoover and Werner Named All-Conference

In an announcement on Friday, the Heart of America Athletic Conference (HEART) named UHSP sophomores Grant Hoover and Cameron Werner as All-Conference selections for the 2025 Men's Volleyball season.

Grant Hoover was among 16 athletes named to the All-Conference First Team. Hoover, an outside hitter who plays all the way around for the Eutectics, finished the season as the Conference leader in kills (387), total points (449) and best points-per-set average (4.5), while ranking third for kills-per-set (3.91) in the HEART. He received HEART Attacker of the Week honors in March.

He also holds three top-ten rankings at the national level (NAIA): second in kills, third for point-total, and 10th for kills-per-set average. In addition to his attacking stats, Hoover also ranks third in the HEART for serve receptions (570) and leads the UHSP team in service aces (24). This is Hoover's second All-Conference selection, having received the Co-Newcomer of the Year award and Second-Team honors in 2024.

Middle Hitter Cameron Werner was among 12 athletes on the All-Conference Honorable Mention list. In March, Werner earned Defensive Player of the Week honors for both the HEART and the NAIA for his stellar week of blocking. He finished the season ranked fourth in the nation in total blocks (109), averaging 1.11 blocks-per-set (12th in the NAIA). In the Conference, Werner is second for total blocks and fifth for blocks-per-set. Also an offensive threat, he maintained a .311 attacking percentage, averaging 1.81 kills per set. It is Werner's first All-Conference honor.

Hoover and Werner are the second and third Eutectic men's volleyball athletes ever to be recognized as All-Conference. They join alumnus Cole Cwiklowski, who received honorable mention honors in 2023 and 2024.

Hoover and Werner led the team to a 7-12 record in the Conference and an overall record of 13-16. The Eutectics narrowly missed a Conference tournament qualification this season with a fifth-place finish in the HEART's South Division.
